Why Resize Images?
High-resolution photos from cameras and smartphones are often several megabytes in size. While great for printing, these large files slow down your website, hurt your Core Web Vitals, and waste your users' mobile data.
Local Canvas-Based Processing
Our tool uses **HTML5 Canvas technology**. When you select an image, your browser renders it onto an internal virtual surface and redraws it at the new size. This means:
- Privacy: No one else ever sees your photos. They never leave your computer.
- Speed: Zero upload and download wait times. Resizing is as fast as your CPU.
- Quality: Professional-grade interpolation with adjustable compression settings.
Understanding Mode selection
- **Dimensions Mode:** Best for when you need a specific size (e.g., 1200x630 for Open Graph). We recommend keeping the "Aspect Ratio" locked to prevent stretching.
- **Percentage Mode:** Ideal for bulk-reducing a batch of travel photos or large assets. Scaling down to 50% often reduces file size by nearly 75%.
Instruction: Using the Resizer
1. **Upload:** Select one or more images (JPEG, PNG, WebP).
2. **Configure:** Choose between PX or % sizing.
3. **Optimise:** Adjust the quality slider (80% is usually the sweet spot for the web).
4. **Run:** Click "Resize Images" and download each result instantly.
