What Icons Does Your Site Truly Need?
In the early days of the web, a single `favicon.ico` was enough. Today, browsers run on everything from luxury high-DPI tablets to smart televisions. To ensure your brand looks sharp every-where, you need multiple resolutions:
- Standard Favicons (16, 32): Used by browser tabs and bookmark bars.
- Apple Touch Icon (180): Required for "Add to Home Screen" on iPhones and iPads.
- Android/PWA Icons (192, 512): Used for splash screens and home screen icons on Android devices.
Instruction: Best Practices for Favicons
- **Keep it Simple:** Favicons are tiny. Avoid complex text or intricate details that will become blurred at 16x16.
- **Use Transparency:** A transparent PNG background allows your icon to blend perfectly with the user's browser theme (Light or Dark mode).
- **Perfect Squares:** For the best scaling, always upload a square source image (e.g. 512x512 or 1024x1024).
Privacy & Performance
Our generator runs entirely on your local hardware using the browser's Canvas API. We don't use server-side libraries like ImageMagick, which means your company's branding assets are never uploaded to our servers. Processing is near-instantaneous.
